It indicates below-normal rainfall in the second half of the season, with the country expected to receive less than 94% of the average rainfall during August-September. In August, Maharashtra is likely to see scattered normal to slightly above-normal rain. El Niño is expected to become more active during this period. While El Niño caused a rainfall deficit in June, heavy July rains largely compensated for it. However, the rainfall distribution has been uneven. The video will cover the late-season monsoon outlook, regions expected to receive good rainfall, and areas still at risk due to previous deficits, along with today’s and tomorrow’s rainfall alerts for the state.
